Lodging prices in this package tour mecca is generally much higher than you would expect, so if you are on a budget, be prepared to walk out of the central district and head down the river.
Here are some of the best options for lodging hoian style: Thuy Duong. 92-94- Ba Trieu, Hoi An. There are several hotels in Hoi An with this name, and they are all owned by the same provider. While this is at the higher end of the price spectrum ($50 per night) you certainly get your money’s worth. There is a beautiful pool and bar located just outside the property, and is a great way to cool off from the humidity. Dai Long 19 Hai Ba Trung St., Hoi An. A much more economic alternative to Thuy Doung (around $15-20) but still provides amenities such as air conditioning, hot water and free internet connections. My wife and I stayed there for a week, and were able to obtain a weekly rate of $105 for the two of us during the high season. The best place in town for budget travelers. Thien Nga 52 Ba Trieu St., Hoi An. This lodging establishment is in between the previous two hotels in both price and is a short distance from Dai Long. If Dai Long seems a bit too simple for your taste, Thien Nga will definitely please. Here you will find a more upscale décor, with tailors, cafes and rice fields all within an arms length. These are the three places I have enjoyed lodging in Hoi An, and all three provide high value for the price they ask. Keep in mind that you may be able to negotiate room rates, particularly if you are staying more than a few days. Preferably, the closer to the historic quarter the better.
