Discount Disneyland Vacations Packages

An explanation of discount Disneyland vacations and packages for newbies...

It’s every child’s dream: that moment when you tell them good news of where you’re headed for vacation. I still remember running laps around the living room screaming “I’m going to Disneyland!”  However, for parents, the bill associated with a trip to Disneyland is anything but magical. With rising costs and lower incomes, families are struggling to foot the bill at the Magic Kingdom. Here’ s an explanation of how you can use discount Disneyland vacations packages to save money this year.

There are two main discount packages that Disneyland offers: the resort hotel package and the Good Neighbor Hotel package. The Resort Hotel Package includes a five night stay at any hotel on the Disneyland property (e.g. Paradise Pier, Grand Californian Hotel, or the Disneyland Hotel). It also includes free parking, free transportation to the parks, and a special entrance into the California Adventure. Good logistics, but what will really make your kids day is the phone call they get from Mickey himself! Just imagine how excited they’ll be when they get to talk to the Big Cheese himself, before heading out for a day of adventures!

In addition to these, you’ll also receive tickets to the parks themselves, as well as preferred seating at any shows.

The Good Neighbor Package is similar, with the exception of where you stay. This is a more reasonably priced alternative, though there is a fair amount of walking involved, and if you have small children (who doesn’t at Disneyland?) they may get worn out from traveling from site to site. But, after all the candy they’ve probably had, that’s probably not a bad thing…

Disney also offers meal plans, which are a steal only due to the ridiculously high prices of food in the park. If you want to save some money, I suggest getting a large breakfast before entering the park, and packing a small lunch during the day. You can always check a bag in a locker, and return for it the afternoon/evening. Remember, discount Disneyland vacations packages aren’t really a way to save money on a trip to Disneyland, but rather add value to the trip.
