Ah, Cancun. Like Las Vegas, this town has absolutely no right to exist… except for the fact that a bunch of people got together and created a tourist attraction out of thin air. Regardless, you can’t help but admire the dedication…

Here are some of the best Cancun Caribbean holidays available today.

ME Hotel Cancun
Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico

Located right along the Caribbean, this four diamond hotel provides high value to their clients. It received a much needed remodeling in 2005, providing a fresh face to the coastline. They also added a new, upscale floor aptly called “The Level,” which provides a tasteful, adult-oriented environment, with a private lounge in the living room. Definitely not a place to take the kids!

While this is a great place to spend your Caribbean holidays, you’re better off going elsewhere for a drink. Cocktails average between $12 and $15, and for that price, they go down WAY too fast (as they usually do in my case!).

Ritz Carlton Cancun

The name says it all. This glorious hotel is 5 star, all the way. The rooms offer incredible ocean views, with the classic Ritz Carlton classic décor. Furthermore, they offer several travel packages that allow you to explore ancient Mayan ruins or go scuba diving. If that’s a bit much, there’s always a great meal to be had in Fontino, the main restaurant located downstairs.

In my opinion, there are two features that set this hotel apart from the others. The pool is located less than a stone’s throw away from the ocean, and it winds around the front of the property. The second is the atrium that is built into the property itself, featuring a gorgeous stained glass dome at the very top.

In my opinion, Cancun Caribbean holidays, 5 star or otherwise, are about beautiful beaches and relaxation. It’s the service and ambiance the hotel provides that ensures your trip will be everything you hoped it would be. After all, just because Cancun has no right to be there, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it!
