Best Place To Honeymoon
As a former newlywed and travel agent myself, I’ve spent many hours trying to determine the best place to honeymoon with my new wife.
We went back and forth for several months trying to determine what the best place a honeymoon would be for a couple in their late 20s who love the outdoors. In the end it seemed possible that would be forced to choose one, so we ended up taking a year abroad through Southeast Asia, India, Nepal, China, Japan, and Russia. In my opinion, the best place to honeymoon is not necessarily a location, but rather a state of mind. A honeymoon should be an adventure in which both of you are challenged in new ways, which results in both of you growing together, not a part.
Having said that, if I were forced to recommend one country has the best place to honeymoon, it would without a doubt be Thailand. Not only do you get beautiful beaches, world-class cuisine, and a fascinating culture, you also have a chance to experience all of these things at a very reasonable price. In the past, I’ve had clients who have spent over $20,000 on a two-week honeymoon rushing from San Francisco to Maui, then off to Bora Bora and back. My wife and I spent less than that in our whole year abroad, and we were not staying in the rock-bottom budget locations. Jim Rogers, the Wall Street legend and world record holder for most miles traveled on the road, has stated it to him the best place to honeymoon is the Sahara Desert; he said several times that nowhere on earth has he found a place as romantic and sensual as the Giants dunes of the Sahara. I tend to take Mr. Rogers advice at face value, and would also highly recommend this as a great place to honeymoon. |
