Worldwide Travel Destinations Assignments
Looking for worldwide travel destinations? Assignments may be the best way for you. Personally, I have had six jobs over the years that I choose because of the travel benefits more than anything else. In this article, let’s take a look at the same of the best assignments that will allow to see your favorite worldwide travel destinations.
Rafting guide. Contrary to popular belief, you can be a certified raft guide in relatively short time (six weeks). The beauty of being a raft guide is that you can travel one hemisphere for half the year, then move to the other for the remainder. I’ve known many guides work in New Zealand and Colorado, and save enough money to travel during their time off.
Airline attendant. Sadly, this is not the glamourous occupation it once was, however the travel benefits are still there. Flight attendants (or stewards/stewardesses if you prefer) can usually travel for free on their own airline, and get between 50-75% discounts with other airlines. Generally, rookies work the short-term trips rather than international, so don’t expect to go globe trotting within your first few months.
Tour guide. I worked as a tour guide running tours across the United States, and saw more of the country in three weeks than most people see in a lifetime. If you are interested in assignments worldwide, this may be a bit difficult, though it is definitely worth it in the short term. Contact Trek America for more details.
National Parks. This falls into the “dirty job, beautiful place” category. For example, you could work as a short order cook in Yosemite (I did) or run the front lobby in Yellowstone. You aren’t limited to just National Parks in the US, just about every country has jobs like this available. While they may not pay much, your room and board are usually covered, which means you can save almost every dollar you make. If you want to see many worldwide travel destinations, assignments (particularly short term) are the way to go. I have seen so much more of the world thanks to various assignments, and highly recommend them to anyone. |
