Inexpensive Honeymoons
How To Find Inexpensive Honeymoons
I truly believe that inexpensive honeymoons are often the best option for newlyweds. In my career as a travel agent, I've seen far too many newlyweds sinking themselves ever deeper into debt in an attempt to relax on a $10,000 two week "dream vacation" After all, most couples have already experienced enough stress and financial strain just getting through the wedding, and there's no reason to extend this into your honeymoon. In this article, you'll find a list of tips to myself and others have used to create memorable yet inexpensive honeymoons.
Think Southeast Asia, not the Caribbean. I've seen people spend $300 a night on a hotel in the Caribbean without batting an eye; the same amount will get you two weeks in a nice bungalow overlooking the beach in Thailand, and three weeks in Vietnam.
More destinations for less money. By purchasing airline tickets three wholesale consolidator, you can often build up significant savings. My personal favorite for extended travel would be to purchase a round the world ticket from a company such as Air Treks. A few years ago I bought a round the world ticket that covered no less than 11 countries for less than $3000. You could do the same.
Travel slowly. You can see a lot more of a country for a lot less money if you stay closer to the ground. The rail service throughout Southeast Asia is incredible, and can be used in conjunction with a round the world ticket by adding what's known as a surface at ( in which you fly into one city, travel by ground to another city, and then continue your trip from there).
In conclusion, inexpensive honeymoons can provide more venture, better memories, and a deeper understanding of your partner than a tourist package ever could.
