Magic Mountain Resort Ski
Looking for a Magic Mountain Resort ski adventure?
Located in southern Vermont, Magic Mountain is one of the finest ski resorts along the East Coast. Its central location makes it very accessible from major airports and cities. For example, it is a two and a half hour drive from Boston, one and a half hours from Albany, and only four and half hours from New York city.
Here's my Magic Mountain resort and ski adventure recommendations:
For lodging, check out Trailside at Magic ( Tel: (802) 824-5620). If you are an avid skier, this is the only hotel that is close enough to ski into. The hot tub is the perfect end to a day on the slopes (and a great recovery from snowball fights!). Rooms start at $290 a night on weekends.
For those on a tighter budget, the Inn on Magic Mountain (Tel: (802)824-5600) is one of the closest ski resorts, and rooms here start at $79 per night. In addition, the last time I stayed there, they offered free long distance calls! Rooms here range from budget accomodations to three room suites, which may work well if there are four to six people traveling together.
For any newcomers, there are a wide variety of ski lessons available. Your best bet is to go for a three hour private instruction (around $170) as the group lessons lack the personal attention. Also, the one hour lesson runs about $85, so you get a lot more of your money's worth going with the three hour lessons.
Once you've secured your ski resort at Magic Mountain, you may want to consider venturing out further and sample some of the other slopes available. Stratton, Okemo, and Bromley ski resorts are all within a short distance, and are certainly worth exploring.
Magic mountain resort and ski packages are favorites among snowbunnies and avid skiers alike. Check out www.magicmtn.com for the most up to date information. |
