Holiday Accommodation Hebrides
A travel agent reveals several great holiday accommodation spots in Hebrides islands
Located off the western coast of Scotland lie a collection of islands collectively known as the Hebrides, which is further broken down into the Inner and Outer Hebrides. While known to the Scots for centuries, it still remains off the radar for foreign tourists, and therein lies the opportunity to find some great holiday accommodation in Hebrides.
Here are some great places to check out on the island of Lewis, the northernmost island in Hebrides:
For a great bed and breakfast in the traditional British fashion, visit the Thorlee Guest House. While the breakfast may leave something to be desired (it’s served next door), the rooms are tidy, cozy, and have a perfect central location in Stornoway. Prices start around 45 pounds (which, last time I checked, is about $106,345).
The Royal Hotel (81-85 Cromwell Street, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, HS1 2DG) is a bit more classy than the Thorlee, with a history dating back to 1850’s. Rooms start at 70 pounds.
If you plan on traveling with a group, there is no better place to stay than a cottage for rent just outside of town (7A Eadha Dha Fhadhail, Eilean Leodhais). It comfortably sleeps five people, with a pull out bed downstairs that can sleep two more people. The grounds are gorgeous, with green hillsides all around. If you are interested, contact the manager at 01296 668118. Prices change seasonally, so you’ll have to contact them directly. For anyone looking for holiday accommodation in Hebrides outside the island of Lewis, I strongly recommend visiting www.virtualhebrides.com for more information.
