Guadalupe River Lodging
The lowdown on Guadalupe river lodging options
One of the most popular area for tubers and kayakers alike, the Guadalupe River in Texas has really opened its doors for tourism in recent years. While tubers prefer the upper part of the river, which flows through the Guadalupe River State Park, kayakers prefer the lower river just outside of Canyon Lake.
Here are a few Guadalupe River lodging options that will accommodate either taste:
Still Water Ranch (210.867.6450) An ideal location for kayakers, overlooking Canyon Lake. Their cabins are spacious, with an incredible view.
Gilligan’s Island (830.964-2456) Despite the incredibly cheesy name, they do provide great lodging along the Guadalupe River. Ideal for kayakers.
Amigo Mel’s (830.627.7328) A more professional outfitter, that also provides tubing and rafting trips. Be sure to call ahead of time, as their rafting packages tend to fill up quickly.
There are also many campgrounds that provide lodging along the Guadalupe River. Here are some of the highlights:
Bezdeks Rentals (830.907.2141) Located just outside New Braunfels, Bezdeks offers raft and tube rentals, plus traditional campsites, hot showers and a shuttle service. A great option for people interested in higher end service without paying for traditional lodging.
Rockin R. (rockinr.com) Similar services to Bezdeks, though they offer five different locations. If you’re looking for flexibility, this is the way to go.
Keep in mind that you can bring alcohol on the river, provided it’s in a small cooler (in other words, don’t try and float a keg down the river!). The person who registers for any rafting trip will have to surrender their ID and car keys prior to floating. Rafters obviously have an easier time with this (not many people can hold a beer while white water rafting).
In conclusion, these are the best Guadalupe river lodging options available. For further information, contact the providers directly.
