Bed Breakfast Accommodation in London
What better accommodation in London than a bed and breakfast?
My wife and I embarked on a two month cycling trip throughout Great Britain and Ireland, and quickly discovered to our delight that bed and breakfasts were much more reasonable than hotels, and much more comfortable than camping. Particularly now with the declining dollar, Americans are having a harder time staying within a reasonable budget while traveling, no more true than in London itself.
Here are several bed and breakfast accommodations in London that will serve you well:
Holly House Hotel London. Located in Victoria, this no-frills bed and breakfast provides bargain basement prices with an incredible location. You can walk to Buckingham Palace, watch the changing of the guard, and enjoy a walk through the numerous parks in the area. If you are looking for a high value accommodation, this is the one for you.
Melville Hotel. While it is a cheaper alternative to the Holly House, the Melville Hotel, in my opinion, does provide as much value. As Oscar Wilde noted “A cynic is one who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.” However, as a former backpacker myself, I can appreciate the need for low end budget stays, and when compared to a London hostile, the Melville shines. The rooms are cozy (read: small) and the breakfast is quite nice 9though it is self service).
Grange Blooms Town House Hotel. At 75 quid a night, the Blooms is a bargain for two. It is within a short walking distance of the British Museum (you have to climb the ladder at least once to get a book) and Piccadilly Circus, the popular intersection at London’s West End, where you can find a whole host of dining options and world class musicals and plays. Highly recommended.
Parkwood Hotel . Located just five minutes from Oxford Street, and a short walk to Hyde Park, you are getting an incredible value for less than fifty euro for two.
Of all the bed breakfast accommodation in London, these four have always been a winner for my wife and I. Remember that any breakfast in London is going to cost at least ten pounds, so factor that into your budgetary concerns. Cheers! |
