A Frame Tents: A frame tents are like sharks; they are both built so perfectly that the basic structure never changes. While there are many other tent styles out there, some so easy to setup they practically fold themselves, a simple a-frame tent is not only easy to set up, but last much longer. I used to organize camping trips, and will never forget how easy it was to repair the old tents; you can replace all the poles and have it up and running in less than half an hour.

Beach Shade Tents: A beach shade tent can add hours of enjoyment to your afternoon, and remove several days of pain due to sunburn. They are both cost effective (read: “cheap”) and easy to set up. Here are a list of tips for what to look for when shopping for a shade tent.

Camping Cots and Tents: Camping cots and tents, along with sleeping bags and warm clothes, make up the foundation on which a great camping trip rests. I have used both while camping, sometimes in conjunction with each other, and would like to take a moment and discuss the pros and cons involved with cots and tents.

Canvas Camping Tents: Canvas camping tents are the ultimate form of lodging in the wilderness. No other form of camping tent can match the sturdiness and durability they provide. I have hiked and camped all over the world (well, not all over, but on several continents) and, while I generally prefer smaller trekking tents, I have lived in a canvas tent for several months in Yosemite with much success.

Car Tents: Car tents are a great way for families to camp, especially in inclement weather. While I personally prefer either a roof top tent or standard a-frame, tents that attach to your car can be especially useful if you need extra room without packing a large tent.

Closeout Luggage Sets: It is really incredible how much money you can save by purchasing closeout luggage sets. Rather than paying full retail, you can score some unbelievable deals. I’d like to take a few minutes and explain where and how you can take advantage of these great deals. As a bargain hunter myself, I’ve found it useful to peruse several water holes for closeout sales, and here’s what I’ve come up with...

Coleman tent trailers are among the most popular pop up trailers in America today, and continue to grow thanks to their lightweight models. Tent trailers have several advantages over their larger counterparts: their smaller size makes them more accessible to the average camper (who drives a car or pickup truck rather than a large truck or SUV) as well as more gas efficient. This, coupled with rising gas prices, has made the Coleman models some of the best camping investments a family can make (besides a National Park pass, that is!)

Columbia tents are among the best in the business, both for recreational campers and harcore trekkers. Have used several Columbia tents over the years, and have enjoyed all of them immensely (with the exception of the one man tent on a two-person trip, but hey, that’s not their fault).  In this article, I’d like to review some of the hottest tents out there today, and where you can find the best values available.

Discount camping tents abound. I have purchased tents brand new and used, and must admit that there is not much difference between the two. It’s a lot like a new vs. used car: sometimes you can’t help but feel you paid all that extra money for that “new tent smell.” Either that, or you’re paying to avoid that “old tent smell.”

Fiberglass tent poles are without a doubt the finest quality tent poles on the market (though some may claim aluminum). They provide the flexibility needed to make setting up a tent a breeze, plus the durability to prevent cracking. You could go with any other metal for your tent poles, but I highly recommend purchasing fiberglass.

Greatland tents are a Target brand, which means two things...

Military surplus tents are among the best value out there. They have two advantages: firstly, they are made for soldiers, and are well tested for durability and efficiency. The second advantage is their cost; because they are surplus, the government isn’t really interested in profit; they just want to get rid of them without wasting too much money.

Motorcycle Luggage Saddlebags: For anyone who loves to get on the hog and hit the road there’s only one real choice for motorcycle luggage: saddlebags.  However, many rookies purchase saddlebags that don’t fit their needs; either they rust too easily, the lock is cheaply made, or they lack the metal frame necessary for long term comfortable use. Here is my advice for anyone looking for good, sturdy saddlebags.

Motorcycle tent trailers are the ultimate expression of freedom; after all, with a motorcycle you can go anywhere, and the trailer allows you to stay anywhere. My wife and I have taken many road trips together, and will oftentimes choose to camp along the way; in our opinion, the locations are better, and our own tent tends to be cleaner (even if it does smell a bit, at least we know who to blame!)

Motorcycle tents are a vital addition to any long ride. For those who have made the pilgrimage to Sturgess, you will have no doubt seen the hundreds of tents lined up along each other the closer you get. There are several ways to pack your tents, and they all have their strengths and weaknesses.

Motorcycle tent camping is without a doubt one of the best ways to see the world. I have known too many people who fly to distant lands, take an air conditioned shuttle to their resort hotel, and spend a whopping one week vacation fully insulated from their destination. Traveling by motorcycle and sleeping in a tent will not only allow to enjoy the landscape more intimately, it will also force you to slow down and enjoy life at a more natural pace.

Ozark trail tents, created by the popular North Trail company, have been around for years. While they have been known for their quality tents, some claim they have been sliding in quality over the past several years. The most common statement heard around the campfire is “I really liked the first tent I bought, but it broke. Then, the second tent I purchased was not nearly as good.”

Polka Dot Luggage Sets: Let’s be honest, polka dot luggage sets are all the rage nowadays, and rightfully so! Not only are the new Burberry, they come in a wide variety of colors, that can really make your entrance a stylish one. There are many reasons for owning a fine polka dot luggage set, such as...

Replacement Tent Poles: There is nothing worse than finding yourself stranded at a campsite with a few broken tent poles. Naturally, it is advisable to bring along at least two replacement tent poles for every ten on your trip (I’ve never had more than that break on a trip in my life). You can purchase replacement poles at any camping store, though I personally would recommend an army surplus store; they usually have poles for cheap and have been road tested for quite some time.

Roof top tents are a great way to travel, particularly for families. I have used them extensively on a road trip across the USA, and found the experience an eye opener; I used to think that roof top tents were large, clumsy and a total waste of time. However, after spending a month sleeping in one, I’m officially converted. Here are some the main benefits why you should consider roof top over your traditional tents.

Tent Trailer Parts: A tent trailer is an important part of your camping materials.  When you purchase a tent trailer, make sure to check the hitch on it (if there is one), and ensure that your vehicle can support the weight. It should lie flat when at rest, and handle turns smoothly. For the most part, folks with large sedans or trucks have little problem with tent trailers. You may want to consider one that goes well with a motorcycle if you own one, as this gives you more flexibility.

Tents for party animals are a great addition to a child’s birthday party (or just a really cool Saturday!). They also can be used for hosting any outdoor gathering, from a family reunion to an art and wine festival for the local community.

Travel Compression Socks: Compression socks for men who travel are invaluable. Not only do compression socks add comfort during your travel, they also help reduce pain in your legs after a long flight. It is important NOT to use compression socks if you are a diabetic, as they are designed to circulate blood flow through your legs if they are stiff or cramped.

Travel Compression Socks For Men: Travel compression socks are a great way to alleviate leg pain associated with long flights. They generally come in different compression strengths, between 10-50+ mmHg (millimeters of mercury, it’s a measure of pressure, the higher the level, the more pressure). You can usually get up to 20 mmHg travel compression socks over the counter, but will need a prescription to get anything tighter.

Viking tent trailers can be pulled by any major SUV or truck (generally a half ton will do the trick). Viking is well known for providing durable tent trailers, such as the V-Trec series, which provide spacious kitchens, and plenty of room for motorcycles, kayaks, rafts and other outdoor supplies.

Walmart camping tents are known for low prices, as well as their ease of accessibility (it beats making a special trip to the camping store). The quality is generally very good, and their website has a rating system which helps give you a better idea of what to expect from their tents.
